Control your cranes, machinery and installations with our wire-connected control pendants – and utilise the wide choice of configuration options. Or profit from the maximum flexibility, safety and reliability offered by our radio controls.

All of our controls give you ergonomic design, convenient operation and many opportunities to tailor the solution to meet the needs of your application.

          1. DST CONTROL PENDANT

DST control pendants are real universal solutions – for universal operation of cranes, hoists and machinery. Their benefits are evident:

  • Three sizes with multiple combinations of operating and switching elements
  • Ergonomic design and operation
  • Switching elements for direct and contactor control
  • High switching capacity
  • High operating reliability.

          2. DSE CONTROL PENDANT

DSE-10 control pendant for ergonomically controlling hoists and machinery. These wire-connected units are used for controlling DC chain hoists and DR rope hoists in applications with up to three motion achses. To serve these needs, we supply DSE-10 control pendants for two different control technologies:

  • DSE-10C/CS: control pendants to control DC chain hoists, travelling hoists and cranes with an innovative ‘triState’ interface
    • available with 2-stage pushbuttons (C) or with variable pushbuttons (type CS)
  • DSE-10R: control pendants with a CAN bus interface prepared for the safe control of rope hoists, travelling hoists and especially cranes that are fitted with CAN bus-based safety control.

Both types offer outstanding features, such as:

  • particularly ergonomic control pendant design for safe and fatigue-free operation
  • housing that is highly resistant to impacts
  • Comprehensive accessories for operation in harsh environments and for protection against fluids and aggressive media.

          3. DRC CONTROL PENDANT

The safety and efficiency of a manually controlled crane is largely influenced by control equipment.

Radio controls offer freedom of movement and improved safety. As the control system for Demag V-type cranes, the latest generation of the DRC range of equipment, the DRC D3 radio control system, provides important features. The hand-held transmitters as well as the receivers meet the requirements of the future EN 300 328 V 1.8.1 radio standard.

Very long battery life

The battery integrated in the hand-held transmitter can be fully charged within just 2.5 hours and can be used for uninterrupted operation for up to 5 days.

Rapid change between transmitters

Up to three transmitters can be logged onto a crane and control can be switched between them at the press of a button, without hampering operating processes. In this way, individual cranes can be simply handed over from one worker to another. Control can be switched between transmitters within seconds.

Speed limit function

The crane operating speed can be set to 30, 50 or 70% of the maximum speed.

Transmitter density and co-existence

The highly reliable and robust radio transmission method is resistant to interference and allows up to 40 radio systems to be operated close to each other. The adaptive radio transmission method automatically checks whether a given transmission channel is available or already in use by another device. They can co-exist with other systems operating in the same frequency range in their immediate vicinity.

Better transparency

The hand-held transmitters are equipped with a monochrome display to indicate the payload and a vibration alarm to warn against overloads.

Improved safety and reliability

With a range of up to one hundred metres, the system enables the operator to control an installation at a safe distance without having to enter any potentially hazardous areas.

Basic equipment

DRC-10 D3 hand-held transmitters are available in two variants: stepless and 2-stage

A silicone case with a receiver (DRC DR D3), an aerial (DR 3 20 2400 MHz D3) and a plug-in charger

          4. DRC-J AND DRC-JT(S) RADIO CONTROL SYSTEMS

With the DRC-J and DRC-JT(S) radio control systems, crane control is safe and convenient. The basic structure of the two control systems is almost identical: A bright and high-contrast two – colour display provides information on the crane’s current operating statuses using easy-to-understand symbols. Cranes and hoists can be intuitively controlled by means of two joysticks. These allow the operator to control the crane without taking their eyes off the crane and the load. Additional pushbuttons can be used for optional programmable special functions.
DRC-J is the basic control system. The ‘T’ extension is a model specifically designed for tandem crane operation. The DRC-JTS variant also offers the possibility to incorporate a key-operated safety switch (‘S’) between the two joysticks for switching on and off.

A SIMPLE SWITCH TO IMPROVE SAFETY AND RELIABILITY

The simplicity of the user interface provided by DRC-JT(S) makes it possible for the crane operator to safely switch between single crane operation (crane selector switch: A or B) and tandem crane operation (crane selector switch: A+B) using a selector switch. As soon as the system needs to be switched from single crane control to tandem crane control, one of the two controllers needs to be logged off. With the main transmitter, the operator can now control both cranes with up to four trolleys. A simple turn of the selection switch safely switches control over to tandem mode. In connection with a DRC-DR D3 receiver, the DRC-JT(S) control concept satisfies the requirements of standard EN 13849-1: Cat. 3, PL “d” for safety-related parts of controls.

SAFE, BY DEMAG – SAFE CONTROL

The Demag SafeControl concept ensures that the switchover between single crane and tandem crane control is performed as a safe process. This process fundamentally includes just two control steps. First, one transmitter is logged off. In the second step, the remaining transmitter takes over the control function of the cranes. This process is interactively controlled by the SafeControl units of both cranes. In this way, a technical fault or a crane operating error can be prevented from causing any unintended change in the operating mode.

The Demag StatusBoard shows the current operating statuses of the cranes – visible from the distance on the crane girder. The crane operator can see at all times which crane and/or trolley is selected, which individual or total loads are transported, and which assistance and convenience functions are activated. Moreover, error messages, information messages and service data are visualised.
